Our History

Four decades of human development

From a Princeton-rooted study to a trilingual, AI-powered platform, SOAR has spent four decades turning behavior into understanding.

Studies starting in 1982 in the USA and Canada by Jerry Hill and researchers from Princeton University originated the Heartwise Communication program, allowing a detailed analysis of personal strengths, helping people to know themselves and companies to know their collaborators with greater depth.

After four years of intense investigation and development, the program had its first version concluded. In 1992 its configuration was updated with available computing techniques and, that same year, it was translated to Spanish and adapted to the Latin American culture, to reach a foreseen market demand. Three years later it had already been applied in thirty-eight countries across Latin America, Europe and Asia.

From 2003 onward it began to be used by Florida Christian University in Orlando, Florida, where the SOAR study was introduced in all programs delivered internationally by FCU. After four years of work with SOAR, Dr. Anthony Portigliatti, realizing its value, made an offer to acquire control of Heartwise Communication and all copyrights involved, and became its president.

The knowledge gained through this tool made it possible to implement new functionalities for human development, leading to what became known as SOAR. The Portuguese language was included, making it a trilingual system, and the SOAR Global Institute was created with a global-reach vision.
